Was this a good idea?

I drew up some plans and started building my own storage/transportation box for my drums today. It's 4' high, 2' wide (I was gonna do 18", but by making it slightly wider I could cut off alot of length), and 3" long, and can fit all the drums/cymbals I have/want, aside from the bass, but I have a plan for that.

It still needs some wheels and a lid, but was this just a waste of my time, or an excellent idea?

EDIT: I'll see if I can borrow my sister's camera when I finish it, and post some pics.

I was thinking along those lines too--- cases

Try Penn Elcom-I think ,or reliablehardware they have ballcorners ,latches, hinges, wheels ,handles...etc. Looks like nice stuff to me --have fun--If you build it take pics and post them :thu:

I already build the basic structure, along with a divider in the middle, I just need wheels, hinges... most of the stuff you mentioned.

I want to put a platform on hinges at the front for the bass drum, so when I'm not carrying it with me I don't have the extra couple of feet hanging there.
