Members Jeff Graw
So I just picked up a 16" HHXtreme crash and a 18" HHX Evolution crash from work today. Got home, looked at the bottom of the 18" and I found on the back of bell in black ink the name "Dave Weckl"
Members Merlin Coryell
Anyway to verify its authentic? All of my cymbals are signed. All have the stickmarks of a drumming master... ...me not Carmine.
Members Jeff Graw
Actually, after some research it looks like all HHXs have his sig stamped on the bottom of the bell. Oh well.
Members cheeseadiddle
Oh darn. And here you thought you hit the jackpot?

Yep, that was my first thought being I thought all HHX had the signature stamp, the same thing goes for the Neil Peart Paragon cymbal set.

Except with those its obvious as they are etched, not inked. Unless Neil carries around a laser etcher everywhere.

Members SYMBOLIC
I have a never played Zildjian A 16" medium thin crash signed by Steve Smith. I won it at a clinic of his about 6 years ago.
Members Bitter Dawn
Of course he does, his sticks flip open on the bottom ends and walla...there's a laser! Jeff: I think the HHX stage crash I owned had the signature on the bottom too, but maybe my memory is mixed up because I also looked at a bunch of HHX and AAX cymbals on the Sabian site after I bought the cymbal. Members SYMBOLIC
Your HHX stage cymbal should be signed by the guy who hammered it. The HHX Evo's and Paragons are "signed" by Weckle and Peart b/c they are their signature cymbals.
Members Jeff Graw
I have the 18" HHX Evolution Crash as well, how do you like it so far? So far I like both the HHXs, although my 19" K dark thin is still my favorite crash. There's something about shopping for hand hammered cymbals that is intrinsically addicting -- it's like hunting for treasure... an AAX stage crash is an AAX stage crash, and an A medium ride is an A medium ride, but it's possible to get two completely different sounding hand hammered cymbals even in the same size and line. There were a number of HHXs at the store and it took me a long while to narrow it down to two.
