I dont know, maybe firing a gun off in a bad neighborhood as a distress call wasn't the best choice? Then maybe when the someone did show up...he might have, I dont know...dropped it?

Bang! Bang! Bang! Whats that?!? Sounds like somebody needs help!!!!

Would firing it off in a good neighborhood have been a better choice?

I guess I don't get why this guy was wielding a gun in the first place. Sad as it is, it's hard for me to see the police as to blame for this one. They don't have the option of running away. They have to protect people and somehow keep from being shot themselves.

This is truly a sad, disturbing death. For those of you lucky enough to not have experienced an extreme low blood sugar incident, I can assure this guy had no idea what he was doing. Like the article says, it's true that people in this condition do not know or remember what or why they did what they did. They'll even try to argue with or be obstinate to people trying to help. I've been there and it's very weird.

Why, if he was at a convenience store and knew what was going on, all he'd a had to do was stumble in there and go to the cooler and pull out a bottle of Orange Juice, sit on the floor, and drink it. In 5 minutes, he'd a been feelin' a whole lot bette and paid the clerk for the OJ. In 10 he coulda been back in his "sand rail" driving home. I'm sure he knew this when he wasn't in this condition, but because he was, he couldn't do it. It messes with your head big time.

It's too bad he had the gun. I can't really blame the narcs though. The guy coulda shot a little kid (or anybody else) and then people would be blaming the narcs for not protecting the public. I don't think they did it to keep diabetics down.

I had a low at wal mart tonight, and thats what I did. I got orange juice, and sat down and drank it. People started looking at me funny, and my suite got a little dirty... But, my girlfriend started giving people death stares for looking at e.

Sorry to hear that. I'm glad you're OK. I've done that a few times myself. I've also been a little further gone and knew I needed to do something but just couldn't get my act together enough to do anything. The last time this happened I was in Austin, TX on business. I was looking for someplace to eat and got low and confused. I sat on a park bench by the street and zoned out for who knows how long. Finally I forced myself to get up and walked into a bar for a couple of glasses of OJ and was cool. I was lucky I didn't get mugged or hassled by the narcs that night.
