Members marko46
So I bought a D-6 and used it for the first time yesterday. I'm only using a single kic with the double Pearl Eliminator pedal due to the foot print size of the kit. But I have to say, that is a sweet mic. It has WAY more attack and bottom then my old Shure. Which shure were you using? I've used the D-6, but it wasn't mine.

Members snaresmacker
Yeah, the D-6 is an "EQ for Dummies" type of mic, so takes a lot less tweaking than, for example, a Beta52 to get that punch-you-in-the-chest sound.
Members cearleywine
I've also enjoyed my D6, on my unported kick I've been micing it from the batter side.
Members siberian
I had a D6 when it first came out on the market and didn't much care for it so I exchanged it for a Beta 52 which I like the sound of much better. I mean, not that it was a bad mic... I just didn't care for the "out of the box" eq'd sound it yielded on recordings. I do use Audix mics on my toms though, and I like how they sound. Not tried to record with it. Used an AKG D-112 in the studio. It may be a kic mic for dummies as snaresmacker said, but I, and the band liked it. It's straight up in next to the batter behind the beaters. I'm looking at their other mics for toms. Which do you use siberian? The ADX-90 or D2-D? Also, do you use the I-5 at all. Thanks
Members Majoria
I keep kicking myself (no pun intended) for getting the Beta 52A instead of the D6. I use D2's on the toms though. The Beta 52A is disappointing in my home studio to the point where I don't even use it, I just trigger through my TD-12 now. Haven't tried it live. I also have a D1 that I sometimes use on the snare.
