If you know what this organization is all about, then you'll really enjoy this. If you don't know about the level of excellence we hold ourselves to, you should see this. If you listen to Weather Report, you'd enjoy this (it's our show this year). If you enjoy corps-style percussion, you're gonna like this. This is from our final performance of the show and I couldn't be happier. So please, take a listen! Videos will be out soon, too!

If anything, check out Part 3. That's the cream there... I was at this performance (Band Day for state High Schools), and even parents in the audience who were beyond "over it" were floored.

These guys & girls work their asses off to be a part of this group, and it shows. It is hands down the best college line in the country, and this year's music has been some of the toughest stuff they've had in a long while.

Give 'em a check.

Fusiondrums: When did you march? What did you play?

I played only my freshman year in 1985. I didn't keep my chops up after marching season in HS so when I got there and got placed, I couldn't keep up on snare. Sooo, I tried quads. Big mistake. So, by the end of band camp I was in the pit. But before the 1st game a cymbal player quit, so I learned the tunes and show and did a couple games on cymbals. Then the 4th of 6th bass drummers had a hernia so I jumped into that for the rest of the season. I LOVED playing tonal bass. What a blast. We went to PAS in Los Angeles and played well, but lost to North Texas. Also went to the Sun Bowl in El Paso over Christmas break. Had a blast!

I only did the one year. A few reasons: 1) My interest in music wasn't as strong at that point in my life. 2) I was trying miserably at being an engineering major and needed the time for studies. 3) I weighed about 120 pounds and carrying drums that much just killed me physically. I kind of regret not playing longer, but I cherish that one season.

I signed up on the directory. I saw that the instructor, John Roscigno was on there. I just emailed him and he responded back. Pretty cool. There's another name on there I want to contact too...

Ah, cool beans. It's good to hear from old timers to hear stories about what it was like. You must have been one of the very last seasons the Pride had a pit. We've been strictly battery since I believe the late 80's. I could be mistaken with that.

If you ever get the chance to come down and see us (I plan on marching the next 4-5 years, so there's plenty of time) come give me a holler! :thu:

Hey Thomas. I'll definitely make a trip down at some point. I'll let you know when I do. I have a couple of Church friends that are freshmen down there this year so I have a lot of reasons to visit. In fact, I'm seriously looking at coming down for the ASU game if my schedule will allow it.

I visited last fall for the first time in several years and I was amazed at how much had changed. I hadn't seen the new student union. I can't believe you have real restaurants on campus! Ask around any of us "Old timers" (Way to go making me feel old! ;-) ) who remember "Louie's Lower Level". Ugh. We called it Louie's lower intestinal tract trouble.
