Members bbe
What does everybody find to be the best way to sell used gear? I would figure the most convenient would be trading it in at a guitar center, but thats also brings in the least amount of money. On the other side, selling on a forum like this may bring in more money, but its also harder to find buyers, especially for more expensive things. Where do you guys think is the best combination of convenience and money?
Members DW_Man_TX
Ebay, take lots of good pics, lots of detail in your description. Have your auction run for 7 days minimum and end early evening on a Sunday.

Members lossforgain
Agreed -- selling a group of items will never bring the best result, even though it looks like the easiest way. List your items on forums and Craigslist but you need to list them for your bottom-line prices and stay firm. Don't think "well if I can get an extra $50 that's great, so I'll list it for that and take less." Nope -- people just won't talk to you about your item if you list it too high. And +1 on good pictures!
Members Mogwix
eBay usually, make a listing on craigslist as well. I'll tell friends that I've got things for sale and usually word gets around (I know a lot of musicians). I sell things pretty quick, but I've yet to find a buyer for my yamaha kit

Members lossforgain
And you're right, friends don't let friends get their gear stolen by Guitar Center.
Members JimmyNZ
Make sure you really really want to sell the gear, I've sold some gear over the years not because I needed the $$, but just sold it. I have a few regrets now about some of it.
Members JimmyNZ
p.s. If you do sell, I agree with the others, sell it seperately.
Members NBarnes21
Definitely try Craigslist for a while before you go to ebay. The problem with drum stuff on ebay is shipping is usually really expensive, so if you can avoid having to deal with that then you're better off. Plus it's getting harder and harder for sellers these days on ebay, they can now hold your money until the buyer leaves positive feedback. And with Craigslist you don't have to pay {censored} for listing and selling it.
