Members boomboomdrums
I have a Yamaha hi hat stand that came with my Stage Customs. The hi hat works fine, except fairly often, the post gets disconnected. It's where it screws in around the middle of the stand. Like when you unscrew it to take it apart. Happens after about an hour of playing or so. Happened at the gig Saturday night. Just trying to determine if this is something that can be fixed, or if I should just get a new stand. Getting a new stand seems kindof overkill since it's just the one little part that's getting loose. The rest of the stand is fine. Anyone else have this problem or ideas on how to fix it? Members apcpa2000
I use to have that problem on an old pearl stand. It was like when the top high-hat rotated counter clockwide the top part of the rod would come loose. I would suggest to just turn the cymbal, while connected to the rod, to the right between songs. Members race81
use a drop of loctite........
Members marko46
Yep, lefty loosey on the top hat during songs. Drop of Loctite, or, clear nail polish works great too. (Don't even start) Do you break your hi-hat down that far everytime you move your kit? Just askin'.
Members manoeuver
make it tighter. you could also get a nylon nut for it that would thread on the rod before you assemble it. once assembled tighten it down to lock it in place, it'll help keep it together. Members fesswrx
Loctite works great, my old pearl stand did that all the time. Never had that issue with my Iron cobra stand. Fess

I don't want to put anything on that won't allow it to be taken apart. I usually take the cymbals off and then unscrew the post and put it in my snare case and collapse the rest of it down and put it in my sea bag. Don't want the rod to get bent. Yeah I've done that before too. May go back to it.
