Members D Carroll
Remember to accommodate for the money it will cost to cut 4" off that kick
Members Thomas G
Aw, snap, if I wasn't broke, I'd pick those up in a heartbeat. I REALLY like those sizes, and it would be like a 2 hour drive for me... dang.
Members Wellhungarian
That sounds too good to pass up, but offer him $300.
Members k7mto
Turns out the owner is the drummer for Michael Nitro (local favorite rocker) and he's got some pretty nice kits... http://www.myspace.com/78790544 I'm going to call him about, if only to make a new connection in the Phoenix scene. Members wiresix
I've been eye balling that set for a while now. he was asking $400. I double checked on MF however, and you can get the same for $650 or a 6 pc w/ a 22" kick for the same price. I figure 50% of new is about normal. still nice deal though. I play my bass players pro Ms when we practice at his place, and the kick is amazing the sizes are the reason I would want it... but I'm building a keller set with a 20" kick and I'm selling my PDP. would be nice to also have a 24 I could set up and goof with. make sure you post if you get it! Members k7mto
The sizes were what interested me also. I used to play double 24" kicks and it'd be nice to play again. I'm not a big Mapex fan, but I'm sure they do/can sound good. I doubt I'll get them, though. if only because I may not want to drive clear across the valley just to check them out. I sent Rob an email. We'll see what happens.
Members wiresix
what size kick do you play now, and did you like the 24? I hear some people say they're harder to play. I'm not sure I believe all the BS about it...
Members cale76
I love the way my 24" kick feels, I didn't think it was harder to play, a bit different, but I thought it was good different, not bad.
Members k7mto
I played the 24's back in the 80's, early 90's. I currently play a single 22 (with double pedal). I miss my 24's and would love to get another. I don't have any problem adapting to whatever size drum I'm playing, as long as it's tuned properly for sound and feel. Heck, I may get a 26... btw, I've had an email convo with Rob (owner of rhe kit for sale). He's got someone coming to look at it today so my guess it it'll be gone today. He's got a bunch of other nice kits and said he's "thinning the herd", so he may have more for sale soon.
