Members Docta Jones
I'm picking up a roland drum kit off craigs list for $280, seen it, played it, everything plays fine. It's a roland TD-5 brain, 5 single zone pads, frame, KD-8 Bass Sensor and a malletless pedal. I will have to get a pair of cymbal pads, and a head for the pedal but otherwise fully functional. The KD-8 is fairly new, and the pads are well played, but not abused by any measure. It's going to be a "family" purchase, but realistically my daughter and I will be the ones using it. Good deal for an entry kit?

Members boomboomdrums
I don't know. How much do cymbal pads cost? You'll probably need cables too. You can buy a brand new electronic kit with everything for under a grand (I'm thinking Yamaha DTExpress). And, a new kit would have multi zone pads. By the time you buy cymbal pads and cables and the bass drum pedal parts, you may be close to that. Not sure. But, I'd check.
Members manoeuver
that's a good deal. you can pick up the extra parts used, you'll be nowhere near a grand.
Members Docta Jones
Has all the cables for the existing hardware, and dual zone cymbal pads new run about $85 each. In the end I'll be around $450 plus a throne. Not sure what that's gonna run me, gotta make sure I get something that will seat my big ass without breaking lol.
