Members Stark
... a free, simple drum notation program I could download? I used to use finale, but I lost it before I could put it on my laptop. I don't need playback, just a staff and extensive rhythmic/graphical options. Members 1001gear
Try MScore. It does a bunch of stuff; audio too I believe.
Members turdadactyl
Try Lime. It's free and there's an old thread on here somewhere about tips for using it.

Members rayboomboom
my own follow up:I've tried Finale and a couple of others. This biggest problem I've had is that there is no notation for simple things like cymbals without having to use the pay for version. I don't understand why they can put out a product that you can do quite a bit with, except put a simple cymbal mark on the staff without shelling out big bucks (at least to me). That's Lime, referred to above. Not bad stuff. And here's the old thread about it: http://acapella.harmony-central.com/forums/showthread.php?t=2202592

Members Stark
If you don't need playback, try this and this Or maybe I like: 1)Having my writings electronically backed up, 2)The ease of copypasta, 3)Easily sending the sheet music to other people? I write alot of stuff manually; I just prefer doing it with a mouse and keyboard.

Members danrothmusic
Hey man, I was just messing with you; I totally understand how awesome notation programs are. I'm a Sibelius guy, myself, though I got it for free (shh, don't tell the feds!)

I'm a Sibelius guy, myself, though I got it for free (shh, don't tell the feds!) I thought so. I think my writing style makes me seem like I'm overreacting sometimes... I wish I could get virtual drumline for free, but my connection is WAY too slow.
