Members xtranoise Posted July 25, 2009 Members Share Posted July 25, 2009 Mentioned in another thread that I recently purchased a Sabian AA Raw Bell Dry Ride off ebay. It has some "stuff" on it that does not want to come off with the Sabian cymbal cleaner. Not hurting anything, I just like clean equipment. Looks black and some of it seems to be sweat or water related I think due to the look of it. What do you think it is (some chemical reaction, corrosion, just plain ol' patina, etc.) and what do you suggest to get it off? Thanks for your help! Members boxofrocks Posted July 26, 2009 Members Share Posted July 26, 2009 Looks like regular ol sweat and gunk to me, try groove juice, spray on heavy, let sit a few, rinse it off, dry with a towel, let air dry and poof, good as new. Sabian cleaner did not take it off, I am going to try some Groove Juice and see it will take care of it. Like someone else said, my Paistes have never had anything like this. I just happen to fall on the cleaning side. I do not notice a negative effect on this cymbal's tone after the cleaning.
