Members Kabaalk
Found a fella selling some, wondering is anyone here's a Saluda player. It's not a name that seems to come up too often here. Figure I'll hear 'em before I knock 'em.
Members wmcutter
I don't have any personal experience with Saluda but the SH is not a series that shows up on the Saluda site. I know that Stagg has an SH (single hammered) line. Best give them a listen. Good luck.
Members drummer_bum
The Saluda SH line got discontinued in 2000.
Members Kabaalk
Yeah, I looked into them... I'm kind of figuring that it'll be kind of like a wuhan, but probably more consistent... *shrug* I'll find out tonight, I guess.
Members marko46
Jamie started that company in '99, so it may have been a proto-type of sorts too. What's the guy asking?
Members Kabaalk
Just went to see them; didn't buy. I feel a little bit bad about the guy driving to meet me, but then again, he said "They are almost new." First off, they were engraved "2002," (which I was okay with) and second, it looked like they've been stepped on a couple times. Out-of-round brass, couldn't see any hammering, trashy sound. Almost as bad as the cymbals that CB included with their drums. I'd take B8's any day. Guy seemed nice enough, though.
Members drummer_bum
Yeah the Saluda SH has been considered Saludas crappy line. Can't go wrong with any of their new models, though.
Members zildjian@consol
Saluda will custom make cymbals for you , but I get the idea you were looking for good sounding cheap cymbals.
