Members JakeTheSnake
... in my playing "career," and I'm very glad to share it with you guys. Thing is, over the past few months, the guitarist and bassist I play with, plus myself have not been happy in our previous band; I was almost to the point where it just wasn't fun anymore. There have been issues with our singer. He is definitely a good guy, with whom I'm still good friends, but at the end of the day, we were going in complete opposite directions, stylistically speaking. Luckily, everyone involved realized this and kind of came to a mutual agreement that it was not going to stay how it was for much longer. So, the three of us (me, bassist, guitarist) started a new project. As of now, it's all instrumental with the full intention of adding vocals as they are ready to be performed. We're trying to go into more of an experimental/indie type sound with some prog for good measure. Anywho, the point is this. Our first gig is this coming Saturday at one of our favorite venues. So, you can expect some pictures and hopefully some new video footage fairly soon. excited, Jake
Members cdawg
glad to hear it, man. break a leg. i'm hoping to get to a place like that soon, too. my band has been hitting the same stuff for, like two years. we cut a cd about a year ago, but we've had delays that kept us from writing new stuff on a regular basis. we've added a few new ones over the year, but by now, we really should have another cd or two, worth of material together. anyhoo, i feel a change from the sludgy, stoner-clutch-type stuff we've been doing, to a more progressive, smart version. plus, i think as my playing (slowly) advances, i need something more. Members skinthrasher
Following in the old mans footsteps I see! :poke: There's nothing like a fresh start to re-energize the creative process! Breakups suck the big one, but sometimes you just gotta man up and hit the "{censored}IT" button!

Members Carminemw
I admire your conviction Jake...just don't let it go here... Jeanine: Oh, no! I told them once, I told them a hundred times: put "Spinal Tap" first and "Puppet show" last. Derek: It's a morale builder, isn't it? Jeanine: We've got a big dressing room, though. David: What? Jeanine: Got a big dressing room here... David: Oh, we've got a bigger dressing room than the puppets? Oh, that's refreshing.. Viv: I've got some of this Mendocino Rocket Fuel, that's supposed to be really...... David: Can you play...excuse me, Viv, can you play a bassline, uh, like Nigel used to do on "Big Bottom", can you double that? You recall the lines in fifths? Viv: Oh, yeah. I've got two hands here, yeah I can do it. David: So, that's good, you can play that one. Derek: "Hole" is out, "Heavy" is out.... David: "Heavy-Hole" .... Derek: Right, right, right, right...."America" is out..... David: "America" we can't do, that's Nigel's tune, not my tune. Derek: We know, we know, we know, we know...That's a nice little set, isn't it, that's a cozy ten minutes. David: What are we going to do, we've got nothing to play here... Derek: I'll tell you what we're gonna have to do... David: What? Derek: Jazz odyssey! David: We're not going about to do a free-form jazz, uh, exploration in front of a festival crowd! --- Spinal Tap Mark II performs Jazz Odyssey --- ( in front of a festival "crowd" ) David: You are witnesess at the new birth of Spinal Tap Mark II, hope you enjoy our new direction... ...on the bass: Derek Smalls, he wrote this.....
Members JakeTheSnake
^^ made me laugh there, Carmine. But yeah, that won't be a problem as the only thing our singer ever "wrote" with us was in one song that we won't be playing. No worries there. It's a fresh start with spankin' new material.
