Members Eyehearya
Very curious about this one too. I sold my Granstar to a buddy just before I started playing again. I'll let the experts chime in before I discuss details of how much (or how little) of a dumbass I was re: price. My price, since I was selling to a friend, was based on my purchase price plus the cost of upgrades.
Members lossforgain
Granstars are good birch drums, but I haven't seen them commanding much in the way of resale these days. If you like I know someone who sold some recently -- I may be able to find out how many drums and what they went for.

Members melvinspeed
Current ebay pricing... $800 for a "new" 5 piece $600 for a 4 piece rewrapped in horrible colors
Members lossforgain
Well............I'm kinda feeling like this is one of those times when the seller REALLY wants you to think he's got something special to offer you so you'll go for it, but IMO those kits on ebay are overpriced. Eyehearya, you did a good job getting good money for your kit -- I don't think you could have done better selling on ebay or anywhere.
Members tamanewbie
i guess he is right in there for what he has if we use e-bay as a guide. he wants 800 for the set up. if i can sell the four zildj. scimitars for 1-2 then i got a good deal i guess for a 6 pc all birch drum set. Members Eyehearya
Cool, thx LFG. It was actually a trade. My buddy is certified mechanic that was at the time working for the largest car dealership in the area and had full shop access. I traded him for 50 hrs of labor @ $30 per. One of the best deals I've ever made because that guy has saved by broke a$$ many times. Two years later I still have 6 hours of labor left and one of the conditions of the deal was I can play or borrow them whenever I want.
Members Eyehearya
PS: Mine were Peart apple red, which I think adds at least $500-$700 to kits value

You will not get more than $100 for the Scimitars -- MUCH less if they are the brass ones. The bronze ones at least sound like cymbals. Good luck -- go to Craigslist with those, because shipping them will be a lot of hassle and cut into your bottom line on some really cheap pies. Wonder what color tamanewbie is looking at?
Members tamanewbie
the kit is white. they are the brass scimitars but i may just try and buy the drums and let him sell the cymbals on the side.
Members Wellhungarian
If the kit is in good shape and you like the color, I'd offer him $600 and see if he bites. Tell him the cymbals aren't worth {censored}. Then you have a little room for negotiations. Granstars are great drums, maybe not as a collector, but as a player.
