Try backing off on the reso head a bit, then tighten the batter head. That may help ! Seriously, it could be the alternator OR the battery. Members race81
Satman........could be, basically most systems need at least 8 volts to run at idle. if the battery is still dead enough, it still may die, but most cars the alternator will carry enough to idle. I would get a charger and recharge the battery. When the battery is charged up, then test the alternator. Stick a voltmeter on the battery, key on engine off....record voltage. reach in and start the car....then record voltage again..key off....batt volts should be 12 - 12.8 volts....car running 13.8 to 14.8 volts
Members RumStik
Seriously, it could be the alternator OR the battery. That's correct. If you're not equipped to test it yourself, your best bet would be to pull that battery out and take it to an Autozone or similar parts store where they'll test it free. Members the DW
Had this happen to me once. Turns out the battery was shorted out internally. Replaced the battery, all good after that.
Members irnbru83
You need to replace the flux capacitor and then grease those muffler bearings. Problem solved. And your battery is toast. 100%. The other car's battery is really running the Honda. That's why the engine dies when you remove the clips. EDIT: Autozone have always been helpful with me in the past about getting batteries tested and offering advice.

Members Stark
Similar happened to me, I had to replace the battery.
Members RobWild
Had this happen a couple months ago. Turns out the battery was completely dead. Once that was replaced, everything worked fine. I'm betting your battery is toast, like the DW and Stark said.

Members bodinski
A new battery may allow the car to run, even if the alternator is bad. The battery won't last long under these circumstances, so check the alternator first! Quick & dirty alternator test: Disconnect the honda's battery altogether (this removes the variable of a shorted battery stalling the engine) & carefully hook up the jumper cables to the battery wires (or hot wire & engine block). Start the honda & then carefully disconnect the hot jumper cable, taking care with the terminal on the battery cable. If she continues to run, the alternator's ok. If she dies, the alternator's toast. If the alternator is gone, it probably killed the battery, too. Good luck, Simba.
Members faileddrummer
That happened to me once. Turned out I needed a new alt, new axles, new brakes, fluids, and a SLEW of other problems. I haven't had a car since.

Members irnbru83
I had a great problem where I replaced battery and alternator multiple times. I wouldn't have worked out the root cause if the fuse for the instrument cluster didn't blow. Traced it back to a shorted turn-signal socket. Awesome times and a total waste of money, all caused by a $10 light socket. Also, if anyone has ever changed an alternator in an LS1 Trans Am, then you know the feeling of murderous rage that comes with it.
