Members Zeromus-X Posted December 26, 2009 Members Share Posted December 26, 2009 If you guys haven't seen the layout, it's flat out awful -- at the very least, right now, you can't even read the replies if there's enough of them, most of the screen is covered with crap, pictures are cut off or screw up the layout, etc. Not to mention the fact that it's essentially un-readable on a mobile device, and they don't have plans to make it mobile-friendly for at least a month after inception. If they move on with the change, I know I won't be here anymore. The Bass forum has eBassist and Talkbass, the live sound forum has the LAB, lighting forum's pretty much {censored}ed. Where do we go? There have been various "posts" about it, more like anouncements, that show up between forum sections. Also the announcement that new posts will not carry over to the new site, etc. I've been Googling drum forums and scanning what is out there. Sounds like this bands breaking up! Hopefully we can find somewhere else to gather? maybe? I bet is a lot to do with the economy and everybody scaling back. Not wanting to pay the bandwidth and such. Anyway, there's no other forum like this one. Im having trouble joining there. Everybody does. Took me a couple of months for them to get around to it. PDF is mostly kiddies. I go over there from time to time to scare the chillun. DFO changed their software recently, and there's no mouse-hover-see-the -first-line-of-post feature, which makes it a complete drag. You have to open each post to see what it's about. DW is fairly nice as a forum, but I rarely see topics there that interest me. Drummer Cafe went to a must-donate-to-post regimen. {censored} that. One of our members (Whiplash?) started Drama Free Drums, but when I changed computers I lost the link and can't seem to find it by searching. Belly up? Also: both PDF and DW have millions of sub-categories. In a way that's nice, but I prefer everything on one page, as it is here. Others I've tried have been ghost towns, one post a week or something.
