Members jdrummys
I have been trying to sell a PDP Platinum kit in great condition for a couple weeks now. No one has even come close to the reserve ($600- which is half of what a new one goes for). The highest bid was $250. Do people not realize that this is TOP OF THE LINE for Pacific?... $250 is less than a Pearl Export! The drummer for Drowning Pool uses the same kit and I do not plan on bending on the price. Anyway, just wanted to vent some frustration.

Gear is hard to sell right now unless it is a very good deal (not saying your's isn't) and dirt cheap OR you find someone that is looking for exactly what you have. Members turdadactyl
Big problem with kits on ebay is shipping. A lot of people would rather deal locally and not pay the shipping price.

Members coyote-1
Biggest problem IMO is that they have unrealistic expectations of what their used gear can/will fetch from bargain hunters. What the hell is wrong with people on Ebay??
Members faileddrummer
It's ok... When you lower your price, someone'll buy it, and you'll see it on Ebay in a few more months going for twice as much as he bought it for.

Members boxofrocks
I don't know what it costs new, but my rule I go by is, if it's worth 1k retail new, then it's worth 500$ used retail.. So wholesale would be $250-300 depending on condition, or extras. So that would be my bid.. Economy really sucks right now, now reason to pay retail for any gear right now.. Members Dark Slide
I live that finish. I wish I had the $$, I'd seriously consider it, but not at $600. As was said, the economy is down, man.

Members danrothmusic
maybe it's partly because you're not including the tom arms. I can understand not having the snare stand (everybody's got a few of those lying around), but I don't know if I would buy a kit without the tom arms, unless it was a killer deal) beautiful kit, though
Members Mogwix
I'm trying to sell a bunch of stuff on craigslist, but people aren't willing to pay a fair price for things. I'm selling a pair of yorkville E15 speakers for $800, which is more than a fair price, but I keep getting e-mails from people asking if I'll sell them for $500, for $400, and even for $200. Price is listed as $800 firm, and any offer lower than that is a no-go.
Members Jeff Graw
might place a bid, but you'd need to ship to Canada.
Members Jarick
It's 100% the economy. Nothing is moving at all. Five years ago, I used to actually make money buying things off HC and CL and flipping them on eBay. A few years ago, I started taking a hit due to shipping and fees. The last year or so, absolutely nothing is selling unless it's like 25% of what you'd pay from a store new.

I have a Dbx compressor ive been trying to sell for like a year for a price thats below 50% of what it goes for new and I have not even received any offers for lower prices. It pains me to see the economy this bad. I'm tempted to do the unthinkable and trade it in at guitar center, even though I told myself I wouldnt reduce to that level. Members johndenver3210
Best of luck on your sale! I know a lot of stuff is going for cheap now. As with most things now a days it's a buyers market.
Members devinw
Dude, start your auction at $1 and let it happen. It's ALWAYS worked for me. People get excited and they end up bidding it up high anyway. If it's still too low and the auction's about to end, just have your friend win the auction and then relist. Keep that secret on the DL though . Shhhhhh.
