Members Onyx967
I attached a Gibraltar Double Click Pad to my bass drum head (22 inch Remo PowerSonic head). Because the glue sucked, the click pad fell of in a matter of days. I tried to look for some kind of glue to permanently attach it, but every kind of adhesive I look at says on the label that it's either not recommended for plastics, or only works on "most" plastics. What should I use? Will rubber cement work, or is there something else I could use?
Members piersonm
Look for a brand called 'Goop'. Most home stores will carry 40 different flavors. Can't remember what it was, but the one I used was in a Blue Bottle with Red lettering. Stuck like adhesive, but still flexed like Silicone. Members Onyx967
I found a bottle of the "Lawn and Garden" GOOP, and it says on the back that Goop in general isn't good for plastics. Will rubber cement work?
Members Mogwix
just get a regular ol' kick pad to protect your head. those click pad deals are crap. I like those clear evans "EQ patch" kick pads the best.

Will rubber cement work? The 'original' stuff I had did no damage to the head. Imagine contact cement might be able to withstand the heat being generated. All in all, clicks are cool but, nothing a falam pad, a wood beater and a little EQ can't imitate. If you really want that 'radiation' sound, go down the trigger path my friend. Members cearleywine
I would imagine rubber cement lasted two hits.
Members 1001gear
If you roughen the opposing faces, contact cement might hold.
Members marko46
Do you mean like a Kevlar patch that adheres to your batter?
Members Kabaalk
Gorilla glue, Gorilla super glue, or any epoxy ought to do it for ya. GE Silicone II, perhaps. I used a small, rectangular, glass bottle with a white cap and attached brush full of glue from the hardware store to attach my gum rubber pad to a disc of pine, and it's been holding up to years of abuse. I just can't remember what the heck it's called. Expensive, though.

Use some half strips of duct tape, top and bottom. Or, Gaffers tape. We aren't fueling the Challenger here you guys.
Members 1001gear
Come to think of it if it falled off he probably didn't clean the surface well. Or expect pics with the backing still on.

Congratulations, you win todays award for worst grammar! :phil: Haha, sorry dude. The part "of it if it falled off" threw me off a bit as I was reading.
