Members vinniewannabe
I haven't heard of those guys until a couple of years ago or so. I'm not really sure myself why they weren't more popular in the prog world...maybe there were in Europe or something. Good 70's prog. That song was groovey. Good solid drumming. I am a sucker for stops and starts. I like bands that do something rhymically and these guys do that. Good stuff.
Members marko46
I have some of their stuff I found online, but I can't remember the albums we were into when I was a kid. When I was like 15 though, they played a concert here in Marietta Ohio at the college. We went early and they were unloading. It was still day light out. They asked us if we wanted to help them. "Hell yes". So I got to load all kinds of {censored}, not a lot of drums though as I remember. They did have a great big mini-mirrored sign in the letters GIANT, like a mirror ball. It was cool later on that night when they hit it with the spot. I'm sure as we were unloading, they were laughing behind our backs because we all know how much we love load in and load out. Very cool {censored} tough if you can find it.
Members Carminemw
What a great group...you struck a memory nerve in me...I saw them in 73...check out the lineup 15 Apr. 1973 Baltimore, Maryland, U.S.A. / Civic Center GENTLE GIANT, Edgar Winter Band, Humble Pie This was the very show I attended...at this show GG got the crowd stirred up and then Edgar came on and tore the house down. Then the lights came up and there was an announcement that the stage had to be rest for Humble Pie. It took them 45 minutes to get set and half of the Civic Center left. By the time HP came on there was barely 6000 left...how embarrasing for them. HOW'S THAT FOR A MEMORY!!! If ya wanna see something surpising...look who these guys played with during their hey-day http://webcache.googleusercontent.com/search?q=cache:mFifmb4wiN0J:www.rolf-thalmann.de/gentle-giant-tickets.htm+gentle+giant+edgar+winter&cd=6&hl=en&ct=clnk&gl=us&client=safari
Members 1001gear
I saw Humble pie once. I remember Steve Marriot's screaming. Jerry Shirley - surely that's a stage name and his big ride cymbal. Little else. lol Couple more then. I never saw GG live. To me they were a vinyl product. Derek Schulman just isn't the awesome stage god they needed.
