Members johnrobbsmusic
So last night was a local store's Topeka branche's "midnight madness" sale, they opened it up from 8-midnight and at midnight they had door prizes. I ended up hanging out on an electric kit ( so many cheezy tones) for part of the night, jamming with my guitarist (though he was on bass) and then some guys found a marshall half stack and started shredding :/ but then he went into some blues/swing/rock stuff so we jammed along for about 20 mins. it was really fun any ways......the door prizes rolled around and I won Meinl Djembe I haven't measured it, but looks like a 12 incher, has a really nice low boom with a nice sharp edge:thu: I've never really messed with african stuff, but this thing is FUN I'll have pics up later today or monday AND I bought some new heads, decided to go Aquarian so i got modern vintage (12, 13, 16) and classic clears on the resos, havn't had a chance to really mess with them yet, but they sound awesome with minimal tuning I also put a SKII on the kick and it sounds awesome, way better than the pinstripe that was on it before just figured I'd share with you guys, I'm really having a good day OOOhhh AND my guitarist won a guitar over all it was a good night

Members lossforgain
Gotta say congrats John, that's some awesome stuff. I never win anything -- I mean, not even 2 numbers matched on my lotto ticket last week. And I never buy lotto tickets so it really should have won. Members cearleywine
Modern Vintages are my favorite heads for toms and some snares. Crisp attack with warm lows. Congrats on the Djembe, perhaps the most versatile drums made.

Members johnrobbsmusic
I'm really loving the Aquarians. I wasn't sure at first, but once I got them tuned at stuff, they sound awesome. very much like Cearly said, very warm with a crisp attack. Better than the coated emps I had on there before by a long shot they were easier to tune also (imo, i've found this to be true with all of the Aquarian heads I've messed with
