For a drummer, there's no better vehicle than a van! I had a 81 Chevy cargo van that I had bought new. Had that van for 8 years (and 130,000 miles), and I loved it! Didn't do anything fancy, just put a plywood floor in with some carpeting on top of it. That straight six engine was bulletproof, too!

I miss that van.

Here it is! 1989 Dodge Caravan. 3.0 V6. It's already got 381,000 miles on it.

It won't pass emissions right now and my friend couldn't figure out how to get it to pass. She's the kind of type that hears a knocking sound under the hood so she turns up the radio. I helped her pick out a newer wagon a few weeks ago, and in trade for the wagon I just did a tune-up on her new car. I basically got it for free. I'm confident I won't have too much trouble getting her through emissions.

They're more than welcome to waste their time with me. I drive the speed limit and don't even smoke the ganja. They'll be very disappointed in what they find.

I'll probably go the alcohol in the tank deal, but I think it'll take a bit more than that to get it through. Maybe valve stem seals, it burns/leaks oil. Also the cv axle needs to be replaced.
