Members jenksdrummer
Is awesome. I'm VERY happy with my 9609-BT stands and the 9606 snare stand is pretty cool too. Pleasantly surprised When I was thinking DW, someone suggested Gibraltar...GOOD CALL!!!

Members 1001gear
I have Gibby Intruders, and a variety of rack tubes, clamps and holder arms. No complaints.
Members marko46
Same hear. I have several tubes and clamps and cymbal stands and they're as good as anything the bigboys manufacture.
Members devinw
I've got a double tom stand. Thing is a {censored}ing tank. Their stuff is honestly probably better than DW.
Members Bitter Dawn
I was a little precarious about Gibraltar at first but, it seems to hold up thus far. I believe the cymbal stand and cymbal w/boom stand I have are from the 5600 series, and the throne I have is a 6600 saddle style.
Members jenksdrummer
Yeah, I was previous to this, a bit leary of Gibraltar...don't know why...but just had a "2nd tier" feel about them. I'm still skeptical of their pedals...again, for not one single reason, other than that "with reservation" sensation... They are a SIGNIFICANT upgrade from my Mapex stands...and the parts are easily obtainable, the cymbal tilter isn't a ratchet-type, memory locks everywhere, and they're heavy and seem well-built...which are the main criteria - the fact that they are 1/3rd less than DW is pure win. The snare stand is able to go hilariously low. I could put a marching snare on it and it be only a bit taller overall
Members DantheDrummer
all my hardware is gibraltars top of the line stuff from 10 years ago which I believe is the equivalent of the 9600 series and I love it other than my stands weigh a ton, I have no complaints at all. I love all the features that they have... just unreal for the price I paid.
Members zildjian@consol
Yes,very happy with my Gibraltar stands, and your right about the snare stand, lowrider.Doesn't cost a lot ,a great value.
Members Bob Doom
reviving/hijacking for 1 question... I have another crash on the way and I need a new stand for it... I'm also planning on mounting my rack tom on it... I ask here because I'm really considering either a Pearl BC-900 or a Gibralter 5600... they look pretty much comparable... any reason to go one way or the other? I'm leaning toward the Gibralter but I'm curious about long-term reliability/strength... everything seems positive but I figured I'd ask... I would honestly go with the Gibralter for 2 reasons. 1) Like you mentioned, they are very comparable, so why spend the extra money.2) Replacement parts are MUCH easier to come by
Members race81
i cant say for the gibby....I haven't used one.......but I purchased (within the last year) 2 of the pearl stand (from advice from melvin)good call) I hang a crash and two toms off of one stand, and a 16" floor tom and a ride and two more crashes off of the other...............they are very strong. I dont have to worry about collapsing the tubing as it is thick enough to add clamps to.

I was thinking Tama at first, but then after looking around a bit more, Gibraltar seemed more "the real deal" when looking at heavy-duty (high-weight) stands. These stands put my mapex stands to shame...plus the longer boom arms are a plus. I have maybe 4" for each of the tubes, with the boom arms doing the rest of the distance for placement....awesome. Now I can hit cymbals from all directions, and mute them however, and not worry about them hitting the boom arms.... Paiste + metal-to-metal contact = protective coating fail = tarnishing. The Gibraltar stuff is strong enough I could probably just clamp most everything off a pair of of the base-sections and call it a day, should I want to - lol. I think I'll get the Gibraltar double-tom stand and some mapex-arms for it, because they are so heavy-duty that it won't be as tip-prone as my mapex double-tom stand is, considering that I have a 12x9 and 14x10 mounted to it. Members Bob Doom
I probably would have gone with the gibralter... it was actually on top of my list... but I needed it immediately and Musician's Friend is a pain in the butt... so I went to GC to test my luck... they don't carry Gibralter stands at all... WHAT?! lame... I did however get the Pearl BC-900 on a sale price-match from MF for $60... it's so nice... my single-braced Yamaha stands are about the same price and rock solid for what they are... BUT this thing is just beautiful... I'm tempted to pick up another one and keep the other Yamaha as a spare... I would have liked to try the Gibralter and I very well might pick up the $100 "pro" model later... but hey, I'm pleased, thus far... now all I need is that cymbal to get here so I can go nuts... Post-Christmas has been fun...

Those Pearl BC 900's are very good.I have both the Pearl and the Gibralter. They are pretty equal as fare as stands go.I have no problem mixing brands on anything, the sound is what I'm after. Members cearleywine
Why I'd rather have the Pearl is the awesome unilock design. I wish every stand was that easy to adjust.
