please? lol

Ok I have been playing guitar for 1-2 years now and I am just starting to sing along with my guitar and its the most fun/wonderful thing in the world, I finally found out that my true passion is music so thus I really want to improve my voice. I have attached a sound clip (which will hopefully work) with my singing and if you can please critique it and give me tips i would highly appreciate that

I'm pretty sure you've had plenty of these threads but give me a chance

also I am actually thinking about minoring in music meaning I would have to audition for my school so I am actually going to think about getting lessons from my university's voice professor, but as of now I would like to know where I stand/how I am doing/what I am doing wrong and any other advice/comment

Thank you very much I really appreciate your help, this is my true passion and hopefully you know how I feel. If you need to hear me sing different songs so you can help me further then I will. BTW i am usually in the acoustic forum here, this is my first time in the singers forum

EDIT//

Your voice has potential, so does your guitar playing.But.....

The first thing that sticks out is your timing is off , get you a metronome and fix that up easily.

Second, you sound like your mumbling, learn how to pronounce your words a little more clearly and turn the vocals up louder the guitar was over powering your voice.

And lastly, you voice has no confidence in it. The lifehouse song is a love song and you need to sing it as if your singing it to someone you love and its the last song your going to sing to them.

Criticism only makes you better my friend.:thu:

Hey, I'd really like to listen to your stuff, but it appears to be in a download -only format. It's a lot easier for people to listen if you put it on a streaming site--like soundclick, myspace, etc.

I personally adhere to a no-download policy--no offense, but I'd like to listen to your tunes without having to load them into my iTunes library!

My 2 cents.

Yeah man, that site looks very suspicous. Lots of ads, and a required download. Momma didn't raise no fool.

You can create a Bandcamp site for free, and we can listen to your songs that way. You can also delete it when you choose to, and you don't have to publish the site outside here. Till then, sorry, not going to listen.

My feedback would be to keep practicing. As Kingdomheights said, you have potential.

I would recommend recording the guitar, and then practicing singing to that track for a while. Till you feel like you can sing that song and be very proud of it. Then combine them.
