Members James Hetfield Acne Scars
I have a Ludwig acrolite that the head will not not set properly on when seated. I can force it on if i have to but theres wrinkles if i do. Some have said its not a big deal and others have said it is. Does this mean its out of round? Is it fixable? Members Carminemw
I think it might be more of an issue if the head could not seat on the bearing edge. When you take the head off and sit it on a flat surface, what does it do...sit flat or rock up and down when you put pressure on the drum? Being out of round is definitely not a good thing, but how much are you talking about. Is it slightly, is it egg shaped...got a pix?
Members cearleywine
I have one that is. It tunes up fine, just looks funny with all the rods at different lengths.
Members RumStik
Uhhhmm...measure it? Check diameter twice...at right angle to each other. Not equal; not round. Acrolyte is made of relatively soft aluminum. You may be able to literally push/squeeze it back into shape.
Members boomerweps
I've had more problems with out of round NEW drum heads than drums. Try another drumhead, too. Do both heads fit the same , batter and resonant, on the drum? Boomerweps
