Members zildjian@consol
What's your favorite line of crash cymbals? Mine is Paiste's 2002's
Members fusionfunk
It really depends on the music and the gig. I've been using 2002's since they came out in '71. They work well for most of the Rock stuff, and on rare occasion, even some of the Fusion stuff, but they are not my first choice for most of the Jazz stuff. That's all the stuff I can think of. Members cearleywine
If I had to pick a cymbal that I don't have, it'd be a Bosphorus Master Vintage, I love how dry/dark yet shimmery they are. Over all I like the sounds from Dream bliss, Meinl Byzances, Paiste dark energys, thin K's or vintage A rides.

If it doesn't sell in my area, they don't even bother to stock them...only special orders. How can you order if you don't even know what it sounds like???? Members kmart
Paiste Signature Full crashes:Bar none, the fullest, most well-rounded crashes I have ever encountered.Any other crash seems to be missing loads of character by comparison. Members EthylOH
AAX/HHX I can't stand the 2002's. I know they're marketed as mid/pro-level cymbals, but I can still hear that characteristic B8 alloy sound that I really can't stand.

My local shop fortunately carries quite a few Bosphorus, their stock seemed to double after last month's Jeff Hamilton clinic(which was awesome). But surprisingly the nearest 5star shop Explorer's carries nearly everything but.
Members Sub_Meter
Zild A custom/AAX/HHX are tending to be what I like the most. However I tried out some of the Meinl Byzance and MB20s at a store and am REALLY interested in getting some to really give them an honest run. I can't find many used however. Members 1001gear
The only standout crash I can think of is a 17 paiste sig fast. Didn't care or notice it's response being particularly special - it just sounded gorgeous. Beautiful bloom and 'rosy' patina'd sustain. SOUND not the condition of the metal. Very strong and unique character as Kmart said of the series. Too strong IMO for general use though. Pricey too. Did not buy.
Members Shawn76
I prefer AAX HH HHX,Just got my 18" HHX Chinese today.I won't buy Paiste,to brittle for my taste. I was talking to a friend who has been a drummer for 41 years,he agreed and had experienced many times over how Paiste cymbals break much easier then Zildjian or Sabians. ( it doesn't help he is a hard hitter either) His ride is an old Zildjian, nearly 30 years old. Keyholed to death but still usable.
Members rdcalab
My beloved Paiste circa 94'-95' Sound Formula Full crashes. 17" and 18", They really record well. Always in the mix, and shimmery!!!!

Members soundcreation
I gravitate towards Paiste's of whatever flavor. They all sound great to me. But having said that...there is a certain crash sound that paiste can't do.....at least I've never heard one that could.....that big Zildjian/Sabian heavy crash sound, that comes of like a giant deep explosion. I don't even know which model... Good to have options.
