Members irnbru83
GC has the newest IC single pedal listed for $180: http://www.guitarcenter.com/Tama-HP900PSN-Iron-Cobra-Power-Glide-Single-Pedal-106691884-i1931838.gc They have the older one listed for $170: http://www.guitarcenter.com/Tama-Iron-Cobra-Power-Glide-Single-Pedal-440059-i1600527.gc On that second link, there is a tab above the picture for "Clearance", where the pedal is listed for $72. What the heck is the clearance? A used item, or new "old" pedals that they just want to get out of the warehouse? My doubles are the older lookin' model, so I don't really give a {censored} what they look like. Unless they made some game-changing modifications, I'd be in for a $72 pedal... Thanks for any light you can shed on this before I call 'em up.
Members Carminemw
Clearance to me is a blowout price so they can clear the floor for new merchandise. I bought my Flying Dragons double left footed pedal new on clearance for 129.00. It's like the stupid deal thingy. You can tell them it's stated on clearance and they will usually sell it to you new for that price...

Members kmart
Clearance in this case would usually mean either an even older/discontinued model or version and/or a floor or display item that is still in perfect workingcondition and comes with full warranty, but may be a bit dirty/dusty, etc. Problem if you're trying to buy that online is you don't get to see and/or ask what the case actually is. Members irnbru83
So prior to ordering, I talked to the sales rep online. It's a pedal that was used in the store displays for all manner of people to play on. I can get the brand-spankingest new one for $170, sooooo I'm leaning that direction now. Having said that, I bought my doubles well-used from a random dude on Craigslist and they work like champs. Damnit, now I'm confused again. Members kmart
...a pedal that was used in the store displays for all manner of people to play on. Do you have any idea what kind of abuse a floor model CAN take? Not that it necessarily will or does, but certainly can be subjected to the worst punishment possible, due to sheer ignorance of those playing it. If you've ever worked music retail, you've seen what I'm talking about.

Members irnbru83
Oh, and I cracked a cymbal for the first time ever. Time to ditch the ZHT 18" fast crash for something that's not ass.
Members cearleywine
I probably would of got the clearance, and replaced any parts if needed. But whatevs, such a solid pedal $170 isn't a bad deal if it can last a lifetime.

Look through the used section on GCs. I have bought a lot of cymbals this way and all were in good shape. I just bought a new set of 14" Sabian HHX Evo hats that will be here tomorrow for $199 and buying a new ride tomorrow for less then half price. Members Shawn76
Thanks for the heads up. I have a GC nearby that I like to peruse for such things. Yeah me too but their used selection is a little thin,I usually spend an hour or 2 a week searching.Their search engine isn't great so it's pain staking but worth it when you find the right deals like I have been. Members 1001gear
Yes, it was...Do you have any idea what kind of abuse a floor model CAN take? Not that it necessarily will or does, but certainly can be subjected to the worst punishment possible, due to sheer ignorance of those playing it. If you've ever worked music retail, you've seen what I'm talking about. Used to hang at a music store so kinda. Just wondering specifically what. Flip side, might need a few parts and you score. Tell you what though, 170 bux for a single's _gotta_ be some kind of abuse. haha
