Members fusionfunk
I own 3 sets, all 13". Many, many moons ago I used 15", but too slow reacting for the most of the stuff I play. Never been a fan of 14".
Members 1001gear
Always had 14" hats from the original pie tins that came with my first set through one set of Paiste in the 70s I recall and several subsequent Newbeats . So that's the dimension I'm used to technically.

Members nerol1st
The sound I prefer for pretty much anything except standard rock or pop is smaller stuff like 14s or even better 13s. Don't like the loud washy sound of larger hats. Especially when they are open (don't like the low pitched "bong").

Members FitchFY
I use 14" Sabian AAX Stage Hats for almost everything, but I'd like having a 13" pair of something for tighter funk/ pop stuff. I used a pair of 18" crash cymbals as hi-hats for one recording. EPIC.
Members irnbru83
My current hats are my first experience with 13s. They seem really thick. I feel like I have to wallop them just to get some sizzle.
Members melvinspeed
All my HH sets are 14" and I've never really felt the need for anything different. Although I've got a pair of 15" 2002 Sound Edge on order specifically for playing with my band. And I tried a set of of Zildjian 13" pocket hats the other day... super crisp and tight... not much sizzle. Cool, but not my cup of tea.
Members irnbru83
Interesting to open the hats up and get a ping off the top of the hat.
Members 1001gear
Started getting those by accident - looking in another direction mostly. Now I use that almost as much as the ride bell.
Members the DW
I traded my 14" New Beats for a friend's 13" Mastersounds. Been extremely happy ever since. He is too! To each his own.
