Therefore, I want to make a cool little single headed kick drum. What materials (probably not wood) would you guys think of to build a shell out of? It'll probably be about 14" or so deep. Well, acrylic came to mind - so did aluminum; you'll get some neat sounds from that size and I'm sure it would be unique to see, as well! Going to be HEAVY, though...
