Zepplin on Letterman

I watched and a synopsis might go like this...Plant talked about women, Page was all business and music, and JPJ just kept trying to be funny! They looked a little uneasy together talking and Plant intimated that {age & JPJ were really the big time musicians in the group and he was a bit along for the ride. They did mention that at the Kennedy tribute, Jack Black tried to explain Zep songs in general. As he put it, Their songs are about sex, Vikings, and having sex with Vikings! JPJ also eluded to having sex with Hobbits and Letterman kinda blew that off, not to offend the Hobbit officinados. Letterman told them that this honor at the Kennedy Center was a pretty big deal, and he asked if they had gotten anything like that in their country and they all in unison said NO! LOL

It was pretty tame, but they all agreed to come back. JPJ looked the best while Page looked young but with the solid white hair it made him more scholarly. I still can't figure out Plant...just lloks like 10 miles of hard road...LOL Nothing was said about getting together, but they did mention, when asked, why they never replaced Bonham, and they eluded to their music was constantly changing and that they didn't think at the time they could work someone in to suit the timeline and the music evolution...

At the end of the day, it saddens me that the three of them can't seem to answer that question with "it's not right to do it without John." They've all alluded to it, and said more or less the same thing seperately numerous times and in different ways, but that's all there is to it. Led Zeppelin is Robert Plant, Jimmy Page, John Paul Jones, and John Bonham.

That's why Celebration Day was a one-off; it was a tribute to Ahmet with John's son done very, very well.
