Sound Quality
Can't speak on behalf of this, device makes no sound unlike the instrument it supports. But I would imagine that it could potentially improve your tone as you'd be playing better when you're not in pain.
Looks very well made and sturdy. Belt clip is very thick and looks like it can take the weight of an 8 lb + guitar or a much heavier bass.  The only downside is that the suction cup, which feels quite strong, may not attach to instruments with matte finishes and would probably require routine cleaning to remove any dust and grime that it might've picked up to maintain it's suction.  Other than that, the entire device seems to be solid and reliable.
Paid $26.58 Canadian (which is 17.50 Euro), which is a little on the more expensive side considering that the device is pretty simple, but then again I am an amateur product designer myself. It's a specially designed belt clip with a matching suction cup that goes onto the back of your instrument. The whole assembly is designed to work similar to the belt clip on the Chapman Stick in the way that it takes some of the weight of the instrument of your back and puts it onto your waist/hips. Using the Guitar Assist would require wearing a sturdy belt with your pants for the unit to anchor to.A demo video of the product can be found in the link below:http://www.guitarassist.com/
General Comments
Love that Les Paul, bass etc but find it to be a backbreaker? Play it with ease with the Guitar Assist. Doesn't look like it's too well known of a product in guitarist circles around here (Canada), but then again it's not available in music stores anywhere. The Guitar Assist is only available through the inventor's site which is based in the Netherlands: http://www.guitarassist.com/
Reviewer's Background
Currently a second year music major at a college, mostly a hobby player before that. Been experiencing pretty much chronic back and neck pain for the last four years and it's gotten to the point where I really don't want to ruin my playing career. Guitar Assist is a lifesaver!
