Members grace_slick
Well well - I haven't done this for a LONG time, some karaoke tracks. Here they are... Video Games - Lana Del Rey http://picosong.com/wtCg Skinny Love - Birdy http://picosong.com/wtCC Oh, and I know Skinny Love is by Bon Iver but I'm doing the Birdy version. Thanks! Members Tommy57
Very good I really love the tone of your voice. Both songs are excellent.
Members CountRobula
I've only heard that Lana Del Ray bird once or twice, but I feel like she basically just sounds like you. And I say that because you were probably born first. lol
Members Masklin
I haven't heard either of the originals, but what comes to mind is that a) Your tone in the Lana song is a bit on the heady side - Lana is quite the chesty singer, and I think her songs sorta need that deeper punch. But I mean, you already know this. Tried those balloons yet? (My new choir leader told our sopranos to 'sound like boys' to get more chesty timbre once, try this and see if it 'helps'!) b) The second song, well damn, you're singing with quite a bit of power here. Never heard the song, but this is good. You should go live with this asap. Lots of improvement since last time you posted, I think!
Members grace_slick
Thanks guys. Count, HEH, thanks! I was indeed born first. About 10 years first I think. Maskly, nah, no balloons yet. I thought I WAS singing in chest voice for the Lana song! Lol. And yay, thanks for the comment re the second song! I'll be doing some "live" gigs in Second Life (heard of that?) and both these songs are included in my setlist.

Members Masklin
Hey grace, just listened to Lana's original. She sings it a lot softer than other songs of hers, so you should probably disregard my comment about headiness.
Members grace_slick
WOOO HOOO! Thank you! I was hoping I hadn't sounded too "head-y" on that song. I wasn't trying to sound exactly like her, but I do have an automatic tendency to want to sing a song "right" and to me, singing a cover "right" means sounding at least somewhat like the original singer of the song. So...yeah. I'm pleased. And thank you, Beachy!
Members triq
Great job on both! But the Lana tune is my fave - LOVE Lana Del Rey Well suited to your voice too!
Members grace_slick
Thank you!! I can't wait to try out these songs (as well as about 14 others) when I do my live gigs in Second Life. I hope people don't hate me and boo and say they're going voluntarily deaf and stuff. lol

Members grace_slick
Oh good. I've never sung "live" for anyone before, and in fact, have never sung in front of anyone before apart from my recordings that I've done of karaoke tracks here and my own original stuff. So it'll be an eye opener, I guess.
