Can someone pitch a note or two for me?

Very curious. Can't seem to find a place where someone could help me, and I'm not the best at identifying specific notes other than the obvious "huh, that's definitely in the 1st/5th octave.)

Pretty sure this performance is sped up, but that's irrelevant to me.. Hypothetically, if I was singing this song in this raised key, what notes would I be touching on at the :52 and 1:07 point? 1:15 & 1:23 point? The chorus?

Could anyone help a brother out? It'd be sincerely appreciated. Maybe I'll give you a cupcake? :)

You sure? Sounds higher than the original to me, but I guess I can't be certain. I'm going by how difficult it seems to be for me to sing along to in comparison to the studio version..

I have no problem (relatively speaking) singing along to the studio version, but for some reason I struggle with singing along to this live performance.. I seem to be able to sing the highest phrases individually if I brace myself, but I can't sing the whole song continuously, or at least have restrained myself from trying for fear of my voice cracking or something that would frustrate me..

Oh, ok. It sounds higher than the studio version, which had a few C5/D5s sprinkled throughout the melody. I guess it's only raised a half step, but I would've thought there was a D#5 in there..

You think the chorus notes are all G#.. Um, in the fourth octave? Couldn't possibly be in the fifth octave, it's no higher than the higher notes you pitched at C#.. I've sang songs that had such notes, like Green Day songs, and they weren't THAT high sounding or difficult. I'll take your word for it, though, I guess. lol

Surprised you've never heard that song before.. Probably one of their most popular hits.

Ok maybe I'm confused about what the chorus is, I don't know the song... but this is in G# minor and the highest note is C# - the notes are G# A# B C# D# E F#, I would just play them on a guitar or piano or something to figure it out

The bit where he goes "Rox-anne, you don't have to put on a red light" go C# G#, F# G# G# F# G# G# F# G# G# if that's the chorus

I can see you have no idea with this song.. lol The chorus is when he sings "Put on the red light, put on the red light.." repeatedly.

And Cham, I don't really need the sheet music, and usually when I google the sheet music for the vocals it gives some odd range that I know is certainly not being sung..

Voice, range: Bb4-D6 ??? Vocally, that song doesn't top out at a D in the sixth octave. That's what I mean. It doesn't really help me.

The live version you linked to contains D#5 as the highest note. This occurs in the chorus at put on the red light. Other high notes is the C#5, which he sings several times. EDIT: He sings a D#5 on the first sell your body to the night.

In the studio version, for example http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=k3EmA-eJPxs

the key is a bit lower but not low enough for the top note to be a D5. It's right in between D5 and D#5. Hate it when keys are not pitched 'correctly'.

Thank you, dude. I appreciate both of you helping me out!
