TC Voicetone Create XT, anyone using this?

I have the original Create, and love it. My only gripe was that I wish there was a way to hook up an external footswitch that function like the two switches on the unit, so that I could use it easily without having to keep it on my pedalboard or awkward stretch my foot out to the left during a song. I saw that the Create XT has a footswitch, but in the manual it says that the functions for the footswitch would be different from what the regular footswitches do. Is there any way to change the functions of the external footswitch so that they could function as a/b switch, tap tempo, and then maybe cycling through the 10 presets with the third switch? Or is it possible to construct a footswitch that could function like this?
