So far I like to do: 1 2 3 4 5 4 3 2 1 (walk in half-steps)1 3 5 3 1 (walk in 3rds)1 4 7 8 7 4 1 (walk in 4ths and then hit an octave above tonic)1 3 5 8 5 3 1 (jumping from 5th to an octave above tonic)1 3 5 7 8 7 5 3 1 (added the 7th to previous exercise)1 2 4 6 8 6 4 2 1 (from tonic to 2nd, 4th, 6th, an octave above, and back down)1 3 1 5 1 7 1 8 7 8 5 8 3 8 1 (jump from tonic to 3rd, 5th, 7th, an octave above tonic and back down)1 2 1 4 1 6 1 8 6 8 4 8 2 8 1 (jump from tonic to 2nd, 4th, 6th, an octave above tonic and back down) Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

The best person to recommend scales for you is either you yourself or a vocal coach who knows you in and out. I was just talking about scale exercises in general.Not really looking to have anyone diagnose and fix problems by using scales. Thanks for the comment, though.
