Members chamcham
Last week, I received my RISA Concert Uke Stick (an electric ukulele). Wow. I never thought it'd be this good. And it's so tiny (the Soprano Uke Stick is even smaller). Altogether it cost $278 (that includes shipping from Germany). I love the acoustic sound coming out of it so much I might not bother getting an amp for a little while. Something really nice is that it is roughly 30% the volume of a standard acoustic ukulele. So you can practice without disturbing your neighbors or roommates. You can find a full review (w/pics) here: http://ukulelereview.com/2008/11/15/risa-uke-solid-ukulele-review/ Another review (from a piano tuner): http://www.ukuleleunderground.com/forum/showthread.php?57687-Risa-Uke-Solid-Concert-Review What are your favorite pieces of gear that you use when singing (aside from your voice and mic)? Also, I have a weird question. Does it bother people that guitar chords are not as EXACT as they are on a piano? When you hit a chord on a piano, you hit only the notes that are in the chord. On the other hand, with a guitar/ukulele, you often double up on the root/3rd/5th/7th/9th notes. Even if there are alternating fingerings for the same chord, the alternate fingerings might double up on different notes. So technically they're the same chord, but in practice they don't sound exactly the same.

Members YeahDoIt
I like it. It has a built in piezo microphone? Chords don't have to be the same as on piano. I like variety.

Members chamcham
I like it. It has a built in piezo microphone?Chords don't have to be the same as on piano. I like variety. It's an electric ukulele (passive) and it's a single piece of wood. There are no onboard controls. It comes in Soprano (14"), Concert (15") and Tenor(17") sizes.I have the concert version. The Soprano has the wooden color (i.e. not painted). Here are some Youtube vids to let you know how it can sound: (NOTE: The guy in the "Solid Blues Shuffle" video is the inventor of the RISA stick ukulele) [video=youtube;gebk6aRl91M] [video=youtube;a5Ezoe-czzI]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=a5Ezoe-czzI [video=youtube;3tqY6OPtJzQ] [video=youtube;NuqQWon71do] [video=youtube;tqTGJv9W62c]
