It reminds me of a mixture of U2, Oasis and one of the people I always get mixed up...Jack Johnston, John Mayer, and some other people like him. lol. Your voice is nice...it's quite interesting actually. Definitely a nice tone...quite a rich, warm tone. I like your name on there too - Purplemushroom. Yum. lol. To address the range issue, I can go quite a lot lower than that (bass-baritone here), but only a bit higher than that, but I thought I'd play it safe since its my first recording. Anything higher and I sound screechy and awful, and have no technique at all (my larynx apparently goes up). Any ways I could help get it higher and not sound awful? Members Jersey Jack Posted February 20, 2012 Members Share Posted February 20, 2012 I like this, too, but I'm not sure I'd criticize your range; the fact is, the song you're singing covers only 3-4 notes, and that's the songwriter's decision, not yours. (And if you are the songwriter, you're still making that decision in the interest of the song, not solely on your range.)
