Hey guys, it has been awhile.

Here is my first song with my new recording equipment!

The song is "My Heart will Go On" by Celine Dion from Titanic.

I made this video in memory of my dog, B. D. I cry every time I watch this.

(Please ignore the small part that went off timing during rendering)

Wow Elena, this is very, very good! I'll probably get flamed for this, but I'm a closet Celine fan ;)

New mic sounds good as well. My only critiques are the vocal is really dry, maybe add a touch of verb to it, and it'll pop. But that's more of a recording critique. The only other thing is you are consistently flat on the choruses. The words "wherever" and "opened" are what I'm talking about. Second chorus was better, then the key change on the last chorus, same areas, "nothing" and "safe" are a bit off. Nothing a little more practice can't fix! Once again, this was very good :thu:

Sorry about your dog too, that sucks.

Thanks guys. My Mom cries every time she watches the video too.

Since the equipment is new I don't even know how to add reverb yet.

The DAW, Ableton Live 8, came with compression and other add-ons and I haven't even added them. I don't even know what they will do for my voice in the recording.

I did experiment with adding a track and singing in my head voice on top of my chest voice. That may have caused that "a little off" sound on "nowhere" and "safe" staticsound mentioned because that is where I did it.

I'm learning. Any one know how to add reverb in Ableton Live 8? That software is the hardest part of the new equipment.

Yeah, uh...to add reverb you go over to the left side, and you find the Audio Effects (I think), and scroll down to Reverb or something similar...and there are several different ones. I use Forest something or other. It's the 4th or 5th down...maybe. lol Sorry, I don't have it open in front of me!

I've heard so many people doing this song that I thought I was pretty jaded about it. But this was very sweet, and I actually listened to the whole thing. You have a nice voice, and I think the fact that this has a lot of meaning for you comes across very well.

And I'm sorry for your loss. :(
