what's your budget? That's always the first determining factor.

I'd reccomend the Vestax pvc 275. Under $400, pvc faders, and all the fixins for standard house/trance/techno mixing.

Stanton also makes a very similar model, but that would be a second to the vestax, in my humble opinion.

just realized you said your budget was $300.. try looking on ebay for the vestax, should have luck there..

also, numark isn't BAD, but they don't stand the test of time. If you just want something that will get the job done until you can afford something like a Pioneer DJM 600 a couple years from now, then maybe numark will work for you too. That's what I've been using, only thing is the faders and knobs kinda start to bleed after about 6 months use or so.. Anything but Gemini.

That's why I say go vestax. :)

Hmm I see the the PCV 175 for 370 but no PMC 175..

You frequently recommend 123dj.com but I am not so sure about them.

First off, selling packages of 'everything you need to be a DJ spinning vinyl' for 220 bucks (including crappy gemini tables) rubs me the wrong way. And they will not show you their prices on many items unless you give them your email address. I was looking at the Akai sampler and they won't give their price or any price at all, you have to call them on the phone.

it's actually the pcv 175, but on the front page it's listed as the pmc 170a which is what threw me off. and the actual price if you e-mail them is $319. $369 is the list price. you don't actually pay this.

everybody sells those cheapo dj in a box kits, doesn't mean you shouldn't buy GOOD equipment from them. if people want to buy crap they're going to buy crap from a retailer that sells {censored}ty stuff just as easily as a retailer that sells good stuff, and 123dj.com does infact sell good stuff, which is all you should be concerned about.

alot of retailers won't show you the actual sale price of items because the manufacturers have a contract saying they can't advertise an actual sale price below a certain ammount (as that will draw bussiness away from the other stores they sell through and or alert them to the fact that they may be giving better prices to one retailer over another [thus enabling them to sell for less]) all you should be concerned about is the fact that you will NOT find this stuff for cheaper anywhere else. if you want to spend more money somewhere else because you for some reason feel better about another retailer then go for it, i just figured you were looking for most bang for the buck with your budget constraints

this is a good sign, it means they have it for cheap. although if you're looking for production equipment like samplers i suggest you check http://8thstreet.com as well as they have amazing {censored} very cheap and will ship it to you in 2 days for free
