Just foolin around. :)

I can never find the Dusty Springfield version in karaoke, so I did this one, which is a bit higher than I'd like, but whatever.

Would you believe I still have a cough, so please excuse the coughing in the instrumental bit in the middle. I sound like a damn barking dog. I do continue when the singing bit resumes.

My goodness Grace, why are you even here? You don't really need any improvement, and it's not that I want you to go. We'd miss ya!

It's really nice grace, light and easy listening. A little jazzy too. Maybe speed up your vibrato a little for this song, it sounds a little lazy at some points. Other than that it was excellent and please! share with me your headvoice tips! I need one as smooth as yours!

Thank you! :)

All I can think of with head voice singing is it's either stronger and more powerful, or softer and held-back a bit...delicate but not breathy...you need control to do that I suppose. It's as if you're not ever letting your full voice come forward, but it's just the top layer of the voice to produce that sweet, smoother sound...softer sound...you know?

Yeah, I get you. That's the kind of sound I ultimately want to achieve, something light, sweet and smooth. Right now I'm breathy and I lack control, as if I have to muscle my way up there or something. I'm looking forward to fixing that.

Hmm. I don't know what I'd have to do to BE more breathy...I'd feel I was opening my throat up more or something, and pushing too much air through...to sing how I do in this song, to make it softer, I don't push more air, I just do something with my throat somehow...but what, I don't know. lol.

But maybe it depends how high you're trying to go...for me, the softer head notes aren't too high (usually)...when they get too high you can usually tell and I don't sound breathy, but I sound strained...and uncomfortable. I never sound breathy unless it's an effect I'm actually purposefully choosing.

Like one of my original songs, Lost Inside (not one of the better ones), I sing the chorus (which is mainly just "ahhhh" and stuff) in a really breathy voice and it was so HARD cause afterwards I'd be so puffed out and exhausted and my chest hurt from forcing the air to get that breathy sound! lol

LOL. It would've been even more convincing if I had, heheh. I worked out my "birth date" in my head before we arrived, just in case they asked me and I am crap at adding up so I wouldn't be able to just say it automatically like I do my ACTUAL birth date...and the woman at the gate DID ask me, and I just rattled it off as if I'd known it all my life. HAHAHA! It pays to be paranoid when you're a fraud. lol
