Members staticsound
Ok, with all this talk about Chris Cornell as of late, I thought I would challenge myself by doing a Temple of the Dog tune. I changed the outro a bit, but tried to get close to the original. I can't believe I'm actually posting this...be gentle Hunger Strike http://soundcloud.com/static-prevails/hunger-strike

Members Jersey Jack
Sounds good to me. Not perfect--your tone wobbles a bit here and there--but nothing that a little more practice wouldn't fix. If not professional, surely you're knocking at the door. I certainly couldn't do better myself (but that's not saying much!).
Members DukeOfBoom
this is very good. what's your setup? what mic are you using? how do you EQ/comp/verb this stuff

I certainly couldn't do better myself (but that's not saying much!). Thanks man. This was the first time I attempted to do this song. It's a nutgrabber at the end, lol. Gonna work on it some more and see if I can't perfect it. Duke, I'm using a shure KSM 32 condenser mic. Everything else is software, I've got some focusrite and waves plugins for eq, compression, and verb. That's about it, the mic's just running through my mixer's preamps into my computer. Members grace_slick
Oh wow, I don't think I've ever heard you sing before. REALLY like your voice! I was expecting something not this good, just based on your post, but I was very impressed. I don't know the song or how it would sound originally, but I really do like this a lot...love the tone in your voice. I can hear your voice SO on commercial / popular music...just as it is now, in this song for instance. And the end bits, the high bits, they're in no way any sort of let down in the overall recording either...they sound difficult, but you did them just great!! Again, VERY impressed! Excellent job, man!!

Members micwalt
The Vedder part sounds very nice, but the Cornell part is kinda painful.
Members JohnBenussi
The Vedder part sounds very nice, but the Cornell part is kinda painful. K that's it, now YOU need to sing it:poke: I've been trying to find that badass Plant tune you did a few months back and that was pretty F'ing epic. I'd like to see you sing this one. But let me sing it first so you can royally spank me at the end:thu: Staticsound You basically made this tune completely your own. I noticed some Veddar flavor in there but the Cornell part you did sounded like you, and that's a good thing. Cornell's a screamer when he ascends. If you haven't yet, you NEED to make an album. BTW where did you get this backing track? I can't find it.

I was trying to do the whole thing in my voice, but some of the Vedderisms, I can't lose, haha. Actually working on an EP right now, should be finished in a couple months, hopefully. I got the track off iTunes and just spliced it to where there weren't any backing vocals in there. If you want it, pm me your email.
