IDK, dude.

It's decent. There's potential. You can sing and stuff.

The same could be said about most of the tracks that the regular posters bring to this forum.

But it's a little frustrating because there's a real big gap between "decent" and "ZOMG SOMEBODY HAS TO SIGN YOU NOW."

So I could go into all the reasons you won't be signed because of this track, but it doesn't seem like anyone really cares. Better to just ego boost.

So... yeah. Nice job, I guess.

Well, that's not very nice OR constructive.

Go into reasons why he wouldn't be signed, and separate your reasoning into (a) his voice, and (b) this song in particular?

I personally think he COULD be signed, easily, if given the opportunity. Isn't he a hell of a lot better than 90% of the so called artists out there right now?? I think so.

Do the same for my clips - why wouldn't I ever be signed based on my voice?

I don't think the key should be lowered or anything. Throughout the recordings that Micwalt have done, this part of his range is his "sweet spot". If he lowered it a good degree then a lot of the intensity would be lost and so would the entire feeling/intention of the artist.

Definitely one of the most talented singers on here. Being signed is definitely a possibility if that's your goal. But there's many factors on how likely an artist is signed, especially in today's industry. Not only is talent important, but so is a goal-oriented drive, business savvy, and personality/charisma. If all of these factors are there and also if your style/music suits the current trends in music then there's a decent possibility to be signed. But also luck and opportunity is hugely important as well, if not more so.

But anyway, Micwalt, bro, Good job! :thu:

Anyhoo, thanks Grace and Davie for your kind words (and DukeOfBoom, as well, for the comment about the music). Also, Davie, you're right on the money with the whole "sweet spot" notion. That's simply where I sing the best and the strongest. In addition to that, the artists/bands that influence(d) me all have vocals in that register as well.

As for rangefinder, I don't believe I ever mentioned anything about getting signed. But, since you brought it up, perhaps you could share with me the material you wrote that got you signed. That way, I'll know what to do next time.

wow, I really like it! May I ask how did you recorded the harmonies? Did you record them? another band member? some of the harmonies hardware out there? (voicelive, vocalist etc). I like them a lot!. The whole tune has this professional sound to it I really dig, definitly the kind of song I would buy from iTunes :).... The guitar solo is pretty good also.

amx13 - Thanks a lot. The harmonies are all me, a track at a time. In fact, all the instruments are me as well. Glad you liked the guitar solo too--if you listen closely, you may be able to tell it's backwards.

:)

wow, you are a one-man-band!...really, all I can say is congrats and keep doing it!....

So you record track by track and mixed up in the end?(pro tools I guess?). Thats great sound quality recording I must say. Do you actually play the drums or do you use software generated drums for it?. I must say, you got yourself a new fan :thu:

Actually, I don't use Protools. I do the bulk of my recording on a standalone 16-track digital recorder. For the drums, I play an electronic drum set, which triggers sampled drum hits in EZdrummer (a VST plugin) within Reaper recording software on a laptop. Then I edit/mix them, render a stereo mix of the drums, then import the .wav file to my recorder.

Thanks again.

:)

You do know about
"The Rule"

of posting replies to view(s) ratio right?

For every 10 views you receive you will approximately

get 1 reply, give or take of course but it averages out.

Unfortunately, this person will bludgeon posters' clips

to death via harsh critiques and negative innuendo while

offering nothing empirical of his own for his peers to judge...

Don't worry about his opinion because I say you rock!
:thu:

Merci.

:)
