Soundproofing Tips?

To preface this, I live in a relatively small studio apartment with neighbors in all directions. Just as a general rule I don't practice much in my apartment because I sing relatively loud. This hasn't been a problem before, but I've recently noticed I've hit a plateau in my progress and I think I really need to be singing at home instead of sitting in the car.

Does anyone have any experience soundproofing an apartment for vocal practice or performance? I'm aware real sound isolation requires false walls and stuff, but can you get legitimate sound reduction with temporary means?

I think there may be some contractors that specialize in soundproofing. You can search around for one and ask for an estimate. Though it might be expensive.

A somewhat cheaper and easier way would be to build a vocal booth. Some people have these in their home recording studios.

Closet that doesn't connect to anyone else's apartment. Closet might be hot.

I've seen 3 sided standalone homemade booths with moving blankets over wooden frame.

Yeah my closet has a bathroom separating it from my nearest neighbor. I won't really be recording in there so I'll just hook up a fan.
