Hey James...based on what I hear?

Vocals, production, all sound good.

The mixing sounds off, but that comes with practice/monitoring experience.

I think your voice is better than "ok."

I didn't like the auto tune sound in track#1.

I think aside from some pitch discipline " a constant and ongoing struggle for everyone". You have the makings of a good vocalist. A good tone and even though I despise the music style you suit it well.

I actually DON'T feel I have an ongoing struggle with pitch. lol.

Anyway, I already listened and commented on the torch song in another thread. Now I'm listening to the other song...I really like the song itself. It reminds me of Pink Floyd or something.

Well if you practice all the time that would explain it

yeah satellites pt 3 was inspired by pink floyd thats really cool that you can tell! im thrilled i am i huge pink floyd fan. i didnt do vocals yet but im sure it will be spacey like "saucer full of secrets"mixed with the comfortably numb type delay i will upload the demo when im done with the vocal version

I also hear a Pink Floyd-esque type of vocal...sort of forward in the mix, but not too loud...sort of breathy but firm...if that makes sense.

I seriously think that song can do things and go far. I REALLY liked it. I want to hear it again and I can't wait to hear it more closer to finished!!

thanks that really means alot to me that you like it i wrote the music during my fathers dying days with cancer so i was pretty sad so it is a deeper song to me im happy you like it makes it worth the time i put into it

i sure hope some other people take a listen i would welcome all the feedback i can get!

You have to realise something very quick before a few comments destroy you and your goal to be a singer...

Not everyone will like your singing (not you)- your singing.

It isn't a personal attack if someone doesn't like your singing.

I personally know people who would rather people lie to them than to tell them the truth -because they would essentially "pop" and implode!

Another reason why people aren't responding is due to the:

"Paying it forward" rule....

Become a more active member, take the time to post in other people's threads...there are many more people in this forum:thu:

I can tell you the people that have posted (in your thread) have exceptional singing ability and technique, so when THEY tell you, you sing well...don't discount their opinions:)

thanks you man i understand what your saying im just moreless happy that outside people like it or atleast think im okay most of my family laugh at me and cut me down pretty bad so thats pretty much why i did this thread i know not everyone will like my voice. but you guys know your music and singing so i trust your words. and on a diff subject do any of you guys own a vocal booth i really want one so i can practice everyday i think i would be even better if i had a booth to practice in lol. and yeah i will look around the forum and post more i just kinda feel like a newbie and dont want to piss anyone off ya know?

I'm so sorry about your dad. *hugs* I've been worried about my dad lately. His vocal chords have become paralysed and he can't swallow liquids or talk at all anymore (just whispers)...nobody knows why. He's had heaps of test and they can't find a reason for it. He has an MRI on Friday to see if he's had a mini stroke or something worse, and I'm, as I have been with all the tests he's had, really scared they'll find something hideous...

Anyway...I really admire you that you were able to write that song whilst feeling such sadness and stress during that time with your dad...I don't think I could do that. I haven't learnt to channel stuff yet. When I'm sad or stressed any musical inspiration dries up completely.
