A Volume Pedal for Vocals ?

Hi;

Can anyone recommend a volume pedal for vocals ? Anything small and simple will do. It would be my mic connected to a volume pedal connected to my Bose system.

I'm not aware that such a thing exists--you can't even use a volume pedal designed for guitar because nearly all microphones these days use XLR cables.

But the larger question is WHY? Dynamics is controlled by singers with their breath and larynx--or by moving back from or toward the microphone. Why do you want to externalize this control?

And guitarist all over the world would simply turn up their volume ONE MORE click to trump the singer!

I believe that would require them starting on 9 instead of 10...

On topic, though, most on-the-floor vocal processors with pedals (Digitech Vocal 300, POD X3 Live (yes, it can be used for vocals), etc.) can be configured to adjust the volume of what's going through them.

I don't know why you'd really want it except for the occasional boost in the parts of your voice that are quieter than others...but there learning proper mic technique can help greatly.

I think it's a fine idea especially if you use a headset. Don't listen to the naysayers, they do not know what they are talking about.

It's in fact easy to use pretty much any volume pedal, simply place it in the high Z serial loop of the vocal channel of the mixer.

High Z does have length limitations however, but it's also possible to run pretty much any volume pedal with a long distance XLR low Z signal by using DI boxes.
