Members BigVoiceTenor
Odd how an American formed band (in Florida) ends up being stars in Europe? I'm guessing due to their style and European born-singer? Only the devoutist of Symphonic Power or Melodic Metal in the US would know of these guys. As an occassional listener of this music it's sad how our mainstream misses out on bands like Kamelot, Lacuna Coil, Epica, Nightwish, etc... This style of music crosses a lot of genre's here in the US and most have no clue to it's depth. I can only coincide the sound with the likes of Dream Theater, Fates Warning, Spocks Beard....then if you get commercial more like YES and Pink Floyd. It's refreshing to hear other groups out there "not from the US" that have a cool, melodic, progressive rock sound.
Members JohnBenussi
Good stuff, SS...I can see the resemblances between you two. Actually, what is really funny is that my father sings like a mixture of you, this buy and Brad Delp...
Members WinosaurJR
I'm really digging these songs right now. Hey, Les, even your arrangements have a similar feel to me, in my opinion. (Hope you don't mind me calling you Les. My name's Rob, so you know. lol)
Members Aibric
Great voice, great band. Roy's old band Conception (with Tor Ostby of Ark) had some good albums, too. Kamelot has become one of my favorite bands over the last decade.

Members romvert
The man sings good, but a little too "safe" and cliche. Nothing special. SS turned me on to Lande, and now nobody else compares!LOL

SS turned me on to Lande, and now nobody else compares!LOL I'd have to disagree. What makes Roy special are all the subtleties and textures to it. It is something that doesn't come across as much in the live setting, unfortunately, what with all the noise and usually poor sound at US venues, but its all over his recordings. He has a very "soulful" voice. He used to use more of his range, but I think he actually sounds better on more recent material. Listen to some Conception if you can get a hold of it! I would have to listen to more of his stuff, but somehow he doesn't strike me like the genre cameleon or anything... we agree to disagree sometimes... Members BigVoiceTenor
SS turned me on to Lande, and now nobody else compares!LOL I have NEVER listened to Jorn Lande and I'm headed off to You Tube and see what I've been missing. Anything in particular I should listen to, so as to get the "true" Lande? ~~ ~~ ~~ ~~ So far I've listened to Out of Every Nation and Living with Wolves and I'm not impressed. What do I need to listen to?? I'm always gonna find it hard to replace Ray Gillan or Glenn Hughes from my personal Favorites Hall of Fame.

Here's a couple: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8aPkA04BNDQAlso search for ARK and Masterplan. I would have to say that it's kind of hard to ignore the talent and different timbres he touches on; a departure from the regular Dream Theather club... By the way, Glenn was one valuable inspiration throughout the years. Too bad he wasted so many years getting high... High ball shooter is one of my faves from DP with Glenn and Cov. Members romvert
Another guy that has the same bluesy rock style as Glenn does, is Richie Kotzen. Check him out he's got something there...
