Members Jersey Jack
Sorry to bother everyone here with an off-topic post, but I'm having a terrible time trying to figure out how to post a picture on Harmony Central, and I don't see any forum for site help. When I copy and past an pic from the internet, it appears as a link, not as an embedded photo. If I use the "insert image" button in the posting box, a window comes up asking for the URL--and it won't allow me either to browse my computer or to paste in a web address! Some of these URLs are very long, and I can't imagine that everyone types the full address into the box. I posted my avatar photo using Photobucket, but I can't imagine that HC requires that extra step for all photos--especially considering the number of photos that appear on the guitar forums! There simply has to be an easier way. Any advice? If it's relevant, I use a Mac. Thanks!
Members Dthraco
You can attach a photo if it is coming off of your computer. And it ends up like the photo below.
Members Dthraco
To embed an image, you need the url pointing directly to the image. In the case of the image above, the direct link is: http://www.stratcollector.com/scn/ampimages/BLUESBREAKERCOMBO.gif The problem with embedding pictures is that they have to be hosted somewhere. Some free sites don't allow cross-scripting, which is what you are doing when you call information from another site to be part of this site. For that picture, I looke dup a bluesbreaker in google images. Then I looked at the properties of the image, and the url is in there. Copy that, and you paste it into the picture box. Members Jersey Jack
Okay, now I see the attachment button. Thanks! It's remarkable that all of the photos over on the guitar forums are posted online at sites like Photobucket! That's a LOT of photos.
