pondering a gold mouthpiece.

Most of mine are gold or stainless steel. The gold plating used nowadays is so thin that sonically it doesn't add anything. Feel wise though is different. The gold warms up faster than the silver and does have a slightly softer feel on the lips. It is very beneficial for those that have allergies to brass.

My personal opinion, if it feels good and it makes you feel better to have the gold MP then go for it. To me, half of this stuff is in our mind and the mind is a powerful tool so use it to your advantage. As above, almost all of my MP's are either gold or stainless. I like the gold and will probably continue to purchase gold in the future if I buy any more MP's. Aw who am I kiddin, of course I'll buy more MP's.

Yeah, gold feels like a hot tub full of champagne

I was actually gonna get my Reeves rim gold plated because it doesn't exactly line up with the cup, but then I just ended up getting a new rim.

Dammit, now you've made me want to gold plate it again damn you

If it makes you feel any better as soon as I get the money together and can spare the horns for a couple of weeks I'm going to send in the valve caps and the tuning slides to my tuba and my euphonium and have them gold plated:love: The wife asked why and all I could tell her was "why not!"
