denon vs vestax vs technics

In my opinion, all three companies make a very well made product. The Technics are still at the top as far as I'm concerned. They have such a huge installed user base that they are the defacto standard. I feel that the Technics are best for mixing House/Trance and not bad for scratchin' and doing hip hop stuff. As a flip side, I think that the Vestax is great for scratchin' and hip hop stuff, and not bad for mixin' house/trance. I do appreciate the fact that Vestax offers some other features such as ultra-pitch. As far as the Denon goes, I can't comment on it as I've never seen it. I can say however that the feature I do remember about it after reading a review on it is that it has a digital out. I'm not sure how much one would really need that. I wouldn't place too much weight on that in my decision. Hope this helps.

I thought the vestaxes had digital outs too?

really, it depends what your preferences are. The only person who can really tell you which is better is you, you just gotta get out to the local shops and try em out, to see which best suits your personal style and needs.

I prefer the vestaxes over the technics, but BARELY, I mean I don't want to knock technics at all, cause they're still standing atop of a very high pile, I just happen to get much use out of the extra stuff the vestax has. (that sort of thing is a big help when doing a genre bending set.) The problem there is, the club standard is still the technics, so if I get TOO used to having those extra features, I can end up being lost without them, and that's no good. If you want to be sure that you have the most practice on the decks you will ultimately be using as a touring pro, then technics are probably the way to go.

Don't worry about what we say. What works for us might be the total opposite of what will work for you. There are people out there, I'm sure, that can mix better on a pair of geminis than they can technics. Everybody's different.

I had tecnic's and was moving so I sold them and bought vestax pdx 2000 and really like their feel. the start up time and pitch adjustment is fast and more responsive, but One of my vestax and taken a dump and does not produce any low frequencies. So I have shipped it to Vestax who told me I would have it back in three weeks. IT been 5 weeks and They still do not have the parts in from (?) I do know and they are not sure when I will get my table back. AS for the technics I had them for 7 years and no flaws. You decide.
