  1. I'm a big fan of TC Electronics pedals. I love the idea of the Polytune, and use one weekly on my pedalboard. However, I have always found that the "poly" mode was not very accurate, but the normal mode is great. I had some experience with the Digitech version when I lived in Austin.

Several days ago, Musician's Friend had the Digitech on as their Stupid Deal of the Day for $29. Decided to order one and give it a try. I have to say, that the poly mode on the Digitech is really good. The individual mode also works very well. I also like the linear poly display of the Digitech. Steam mode works well, but I actually tend to prefer the standard tuning display on the Digitech.

Both are well built, and the Digitech is a bit larger in form factor. As much as I hate to say it, I think the Digitech has won me over. Will be taking a spot on my board next week. Love my Polytune for my electrics, but it does not track as quickly with my acoustics as my other tuners do. No idea why. Both are great tuners, though... glad to own them both!

  2. Selling my Fender HSS Stratocaster FSR. Ash body, beautiful amber finish, Fender humbucker, Vintage Noiseless single coils, active no-load tone boost, vintage tuners, rosewood fretboard, and plays very nice! Everything on this guitar is stock. Came from the factory like this. Nothing wrong with it whatsoever...some light pickmarks on the guard...that's it! Saving up for a different guitar...:) Looking to get $550 with the case. Might be interested in a trade for something with mini-hums in it...:thu:

  3. I won't remove the listing unless requested to do so by mod. I have changed the ad and anyone interested in specifics on the guitar can contact me.

Unfortunately I can't help you with your wife.

Sorry bro, selling fakes with a name on them just isn't cool. Had you simply built a look-alike without the name, not that big of an issue. However, putting the Ric name on it isn't cool. You should take down the listing man. Not trying to start a mess with you...just agreeing that the listing should come down. :thu:

  4. Exactly right.

Many of the 'issues' around here could be easily remedied by simply enforcing the forum rules. Apparently, that isn't going to happen...

totally agree. The mods always did a great job of letting discussions get interesting, but once they crossed the line, they were shut down. Trolls were banned, and we had some seriously fun discussions. We donated parts for guys and one lady (Stratogirl) that either lost gear in a bad trade, or simply could not afford/find a nice guitar. I used to buy and sell gear here a lot. Lately (like the past 2 years), the mods seem to be letting this place slide into the abyss like Guitar Jam. How about the mods either get on the ball here, or pick up a few new ones that will enforce the guidelines.

  5. I still don't understand the hate towards the Hot Rod series. There is a reason that they are the #1 tube amp line out there...they sound great clean, take pedals well, and don't break the bank. I had to sell mine a few months ago, but would take another one in a heartbeat. Sold it for $350, no cover...but extremely clean. I see them on Craigslist all the time in the $350-425 range. Like people have already stated, for that price...it should be very clean and have the cover/footswitch. If you find one of the limited edition models in different colors, those usually fetch a bit more money...but are very cool!

  6. I hear ya... and my opinion isn't any more or less valid than yours, but how much is an all tube Marshall amp? They sell many of them, right? A decent number of those purchases likely end up with an 'I love the sound, but I wish I could get it at a much lower volume'.

I dunno... I'm probably wrong though.

I'm not being defensive though... I have zero interest in them and have zero interest in the Class 5. I prefer getting my Marshall tones with a pedal through an amp that has great cleans.

Yup...if these amps were in the same price range as a Class 5, I might be more interested. But...at twice that...they're just making money because they can. When you can get a pretty convincing Marshall tone from a pedal these days...what's the point of paying all that for one tone?
