  1. I really like this Duncan Lil'59 in this Tele but the Neck Fender Fidelitron is super weak compared to the Lil'59. Would a TV Jones Powertron be a good match?

  2. I have a strat project going on and I need pickups for it. I have always wanted to try Toneriders so that is what I am going to put in this partscaster. I just need some recommendations of which ones people really like. These will be my first real strat pickups so I don't know much about the different sounds other than what I hear on YouTube. The Guitar is an Alder body with a Maple neck. I like to play blues and blues rock, but wouldn't mind getting into some surf rock and alternative showgazing stuff. I always play with a little dirt but I think any of these Toneriders handle dirt in their own cool way from what I have heard on YouTube. I do have my favorites form listening, but I am just wondering what are the favorites out there with you guys. Again I know people are going to suggest Rose and Bill Lawrence as well as others, but I am really only interested in trying out a set of Toneriders just to see what the hype is and hopefully getting a great set of pickups.

  3. I am down to these two in my search for pickups for my Mustang - Fralin Mustang picpkups (probable the blues set ) Duncan Antiquity II The '60s "Myth"Mustang pickups.

Does anybody have any experience with these? There is very little on You Tube. One guy did a series parallel wiring with the fralins and it sounded like the sound I am looking for. them I saw a video of the Duncans comparing the reissue fender mustang pickups to them and they blew them away. The distortion was very articulate not a bunch of mush. So I am on the fence.

  4. I have a Squier vintage modified Mustang that I put Hot Rails in and have never really jelled with it. I want to get back to a single coil sound. It doesn't have to be a Mustang sound. I mostly play Blues and Blues Rock. I think I want something that has a little bit of jangle in it but can still handle overdrive. It would be nice if the neck was reverse wound for hum canceling in the middle. I have been looking at Lace golds, GFS lipsticks, and GFS Greybottom non staggers. I have around a $100 to spend. Any Other suggestions

  5. I think my post was a little bit confusing.

Basically what I want to do is use my Computer as a headphone amp for electric guitar. I have two programs. One that slows down video at same pitch and one that slow down MP3s at same pitch. I want the effected sound of my guitar from the Amp/Effect sim to come out the Headphones as well as well as the sound of the two programs I mentioned above. This is what I want to use to practice. Right now I am using a Line 6 Podxt Red Bean. It allows the sounds from the computer to come out of the headphones attached to it along with the effected sound of the guitar. It is like 10 years old and I thinks it is time for an upgrade especially since I just moved up to Windows 10 and it no longer supports a program where you can control the Pod from your computer screen. That is why I need help with a good setup. Already got the Focusrite Audio Interface now I need to figure out the rest. Thanks

  6. I have a Focusrite scarlet 2i2 2nd gen coming and I want to know some good free amp sims to try out before I commit to buying anything. Also any information on doing this for the first time would be great. Video Links, Forum links, etc. I play mostly Blues to Blues Rock some hard rock. I also Want to Know about DAWs. Do You need this for the sims to work. I do a little light recording now but this is just mainly going to be used for the amp sims and effects. I want to use this as a headphone amp that I can play along to the programs on my computer that slow down video and audio

  7. I'm thinking about using a Focusrite Scarlet 2i2 USB audio interface for practicing my guitar with head phones on and maybe some light recording. I use a MP3 slowdown program and Video slowdown program to practice with. My question is because I have never done this before I want to make sure I can hear these programs as well as any sound coming from my computer through the headphone connected to the Audio Interface. I Assume you can but I am just making sure. I am going to be using Amplitube the free download at first for amp modeling. Is that a good choice for just starting out. Thanks

  8. I got a ToneKing Falcon and really dug it at first but the more I play through it the more I feel there could be better top end. The speaker (Eminence Rajin Cajun) seems real bassy to me. It has a great tweed sound and I want to stay with a speaker that is going to bring that out of it. Any Suggestions?

  9. Bogner will likely have a better resale price' date=' but to be truthful, spending 1000+ on amps rated 3W or even 18W is ridiculously high priced for any amp when you consider the components to build them cost maybe $200 tops. I can do "Way" better buying some cool vintage amp myself, but I'm a tech who can repair and refurbish anything I buy. Its your money so you'll have to make the call.[/quote']

My ears are not so good anymore so I'm need something low volume but I also want good tone. I have tried lower price amps, Tweaker, Blackstar, Peavey Mini s etc. but nothing sounds great just OK. What would you suggest?

  10. Here is a little more info about what I am looking for. I play mostly blues, blues rock and a little punk (old school and modern) and Hard Rock Zep, AC/DC, Aerosmith, ZZTop etc. A sound I Am really looking for an amp to do good is that edge of breakup sound. Reviews have said the Bogner does that well that and that's why I am interested in it. The other gain channels are just icing on the cake. But if the Raleigh does that and does better than the Bogner then I will probable go for that. Also I want articulation on the gain channel instead of it being muddy. I know they seem like different amps but they both seem like they would get me in the spectrum of sound I'm looking for.
